I love this restaurant! For a long time living in the south in the country I had easy access to fried fish, fries, and shrimp. So after living in the country to the city that aspect was missing! But not here at the Dead Fish Grill where everything is made to order and delicious! We were nicely greeted by Jessica, our waitress; her attitude was bubbly, funny, and down right down to earth. She's attentive too and won't forget about you! She made our experience at DFG surely pleasurable. I highly recommend you ask for her when you go! For our meal, we started off with appetizers: the turf & surf bacon wrapped jalapenos & lemon peppered calamari. (After having a bad experience in the past with calamari, I was hesitant to try it), however here the squid didn't give me a sour stomach and I couldn't stop eating it. The taste was flavorful & good. I'd definitely order it again! As for the bacon wrapped poppers, it was okay, I wouldn't order again, seeing only 4 tiny poppers come out. I didn't taste the hint of crab neither. As for the star of the show: our main entrees. My dad ordered the shrimp plate with fries, hush puppy and he enjoyed it. I had the fish plate with shrimp, hush puppy, and corn. The fish wasn't fried hard though it was so tasty and amazing! My brother ordered the seafood tacos and noted his food was good. We got here just in time for happy hour and Jessica hooked us up, the mango margarita is straight on point with the flavor and with the right amount of alcohol! The tajun on the glass made it perfect to drink. If I was Belton again I'd definitely order it again! My brother & Dad had beer although my brother enjoyed his beer, my dad said his beer was flat. He couldn't finish it and that's hard to believe. My dad tried to put in a special request as far as how he wanted his shrimp to be prepared and the female chef said, no. Because she didn't want to do it, noting if it was a crowd to rush in she wouldn't been able to handle it. He just wanted his shrimp bufferflied (takes less than 5 seconds to do). Overall, this is a perfect restaurant to come to eat and unwind. It's right on the water of Lake Belton & the service and ambience is relaxing!

Ok five stars now. How do you beat the happy hour specials here ????!!!! And the view is still amazing. My fav drink has gotta be the Bahama mama. Boudin balls are SOOOO GOOD. And a pound of boiled shrimp for 12 bucks ? How can you pass it up. And all that catfish the the appetizer ?!?!? Amazing

I would come here for the view and ambiance, not the food. Food is mediocre. 4 Stars for location

great views, food, & drinks! i got the salmon with rice & brussel sprouts. the salmon was a 5/5! would have loved a may ploy sauce or something for the brussel sprouts, but i'm not sure they always serve them with the salmon (they said it was served with vegetable medley of broccoli). my boyfriend got the catfish and shrimp and said he loved it! i had a bite of the fries and they were perfect. once again, that view! 5/5

Great atmosphere, service, and food. I ordered the fish & chips same with my brother, my son ordered from the kids menu fried shrimp w/ fries, and my mom had shrimp and grits. All the food came out hot, fresh, and yummy! The view of the lake while eating was nice too.

I would like to give this place another try. For our big group, there was a limited menu and I'd like to see their other options. We did have to send some stuff back. My salmon wasn't cooked enough. I pretty much know how restaurants tend to cook theirs but mine was too undone. They did correct it with another plate. One of my Soldiers had some dust or something in their chips and that was quickly resolved as well and it was removed from his ticket. Food wasn't bad and service was great (I say great because they did fix the problem with no issue), I'd just like to experience it outside a big group.

A hidden gem in Belton if you are looking for a great brunch spot. Also good for group events. As soon as I stepped in the establishment I was greeted. Friendly staff and the food was on point. Couldn't ask for more. Definitely coming back if in the area

OK, so the atmosphere gets 10 out of five stars. During the day you have the best view in the area of Lake Belton, and even during the evening it's a great ambience. I took a picture of the fireplace because I would say this is one of the best seats when it's the evening and this fireplace kicks off some real heat. Cody was our waiter and he was super enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the restaurant, the menu, and was able to take care of us and make us feel right at home. Had the onion rings for an appetizer and then fried catfish and blackened shrimp with hush puppies and fries. It was good! Great combo with the blackened shrimp for sure. Overall highly recommend Dead Fish Grill. The food may not live up to the ambience, but it's overall a great restaurant!
